The Brief
Milton Keynes College wanted to refurbish and modernise their Chaffron Way and Bletchley campuses, and introduce new furniture and innovative new ways of working for their student classrooms, staff offices, and breakout spaces.
We listened to what the college wanted to achieve in these spaces, and then provided sample furniture to allow the students and staff the opportunity to evaluate some different new products. This feedback allowed us to complete space plans and 3D drawings, and submit competitive quotations.
The Solution
The furniture orders and deliveries were project managed to fit in with our summer fit-out and refurbishment works for the college, so that installation was seamless. All the furniture was left in position, ready for student and staff use, and all waste and packaging was removed and recycled.
The new classroom furniture included mobile chairs with integral universal handing writing tablets and bag storage built within the base of the chairs. These chairs allow tutors and students to set up flexible learning spaces, and allow quick and easy reconfiguration of rooms to encourage teamwork and project working. Another important requirement that we supplied was the inclusion of fastcharge USB and USB-C sockets to allow staff and students to be able to recharge tablets and phones while they work collaboratively.
Nathan Indge, Milton Keynes CollegeWe have worked with ACI on previous projects, and they have always been competitive with their quotations and have always completed projects on time, which is crucial for us. As a supplier, they also excel at suggesting innovative products and solutions, which gives us a lot of confidence that the furnished rooms will always be modern and up to date, which is vital for a modern and forward thinking college. The large furniture project we completed this summer was once again expertly project managed by ACI from start to completion, and we are delighted with the newly fitted-out classrooms and office spaces.
